1) Eat real, certified organic food - this includes
drinking pure water and organic fruit and vegetable
juices. Support your local organic and sustainable
farms, when possible.

2) Use organic ingredients to clean and disinfect your
home.

3) Get 8 or more hours of quality sleep each night.
Naps are great too.

4) Detox your body once every six months whether you
feel like you need it or not.

5) Walk, ride your bike, or carpool to work.
Telecommute if your company supports it.

6) Recycle the things you do not want. Take the time to
find someone in your community who can use what you
cannot.

7) Power down machines that require energy when not
in use. Use solar, wind or other clean energy sources
whenever possible.

8) Barter for goods and services to lessen your
dependence on the almighty dollar.

9) Make time for fun.

10) Get 15 minutes of natural sunshine every day.

11) Volunteer.

Life doesn't get much simpler. In fact, life can become
much easier when you choose to adopt an organic
lifestyle. Throughout the site, the above 11 topics
come up often and they're closely related (I tried to
smash it into a tidy 10 list, but it just didn't happen) - so
I decided to put them on the home page and naturally
branch off into other discussions through out the site
with related information for you.

A woman named Jasmine recently wrote an email to me
and she talked about how difficult and expensive she
felt "converting" her family to organic would be.

I shared with Jasmine that an organic lifestyle is a
simple choice and a mindset... just like picking out what
clothes you want to wear for the day. I encouraged her
to meet herself and her family members where they are
at.

My advice would be the same for you: start making
small changes and slowly build in other sustainable
living techniques and habits into your life.

Being green does not necessarily mean you have to
give up meat or live "off the grid" if you don't wish to.
Before you know it, you will become an expert and
you'll be passing your newly found green living tips with
your friends and family.

Everyone starts this journey in different places and it's
ok if you're starting from the very beginning. Organic
and sustainable living can cost a bit more at first -- that
is until you learn some secrets about how to reduce,
recycle and reuse your everyday items.

As time goes on and more people buy and demand
organic items, prices will decline. When prices decline
for organic goods, better supply and better choices will
arrive for all of us.

Hopefully this site can offer a wealth of information to
transform your life from where it is to an organic,
happy, and toxic-free life.

If you're already living eco-friendly, "kudos to you". Tell
us how you're doing it, what your favorite products are,
your best shopping deals, coupon codes and gift ideas.

We love receiving your e-mails about "everything
organic", so keep them coming. You give us great
ideas and topics for more information.
